2012 in review

I made it back BEFORE one year has passed...barely! So wow, it's 2013! Let's see, 2012 brought a lot of big changes. Aysha graduated high school and started college at Linfield College, and Malea graduated preschool and started Kindergarten at Pacific Union! Here are a few pics...

And again...a year and a half later!!!

Wow! It's almost spring and it's 2012! I last wrote in October 2010??? I just am not cut out for this keeping up on the blog thing. I just want to say that I am in the throws of sending one off to college and the other off to Kindergarten this fall! Whew! Just saying that makes me tired. It's been a crazy last couple of months between the FAFSA, getting taxes completed, touring elementary schools, finding scholarship opportunities, campus visits, etc, etc!!! Calgon, take me away!
Ok, so here's the latest pics of the girls...Malea's preschool photo (4 years old) and Aysha's senior picture (17 years old).

Again.....I forgot I had a blog!

Well, what can I say? I am truly horrible at the blog thing. My big thing in 2010 has been a weight loss challenge. I started in the spring...around March or April. My goal was to lose about 35 lbs. As of today, October 21st, 2010...I have officially lost 29 lbs! I have found a love of exercising and cooking healthy that I had never known before. I ran three 5k's this year and dropped a pant size or two. Here's the best before and after I've got...since I didn't plan a before and after photo at all...

Also, big thumbs up to the Carblover's Diet!

Christmastime 2009!

Um, yeah! Well I suck at this keeping up on the blog thing! Between Facebook, email, and reality...who has the time???
Anyway, I did get to go to Michigan this summer and had a wonderful time with my cousin, Liz and my friends and family in tha "D" and in da U.P! Liz took so many wonderful photos of our trip up north and I will post some of those soon.
But for now it is almost CHRISTMAS time...2009. Malea's 3rd Christmas already!
Time goes quick!
I am going to work on getting some "highlights of 2009" photos up here soon!

As far as books...my favorite read this year was "Animal, Vegetable, Miracle" by Barbara Kingsolover and her family. It is a very fascinating book!

OK...more to come...SOON...I promise. The photo above is from our family photoshoot in November by Naomi Powell. It is taken on the trail above College Cove beach in Trinidad, CA.

Wow...I forgot I had a blog. It's been almost a year and Malea just turned 2!!! Aysha is about to turn 15 and life is going along. Getting excited for summer plans...still planning it out...but I hope to visit Nevada County, CA...possibly Michigan...and a trip to Eugene, OR at some point too...and maybe camping on the Salmon River, as long as there are no fires up that way this year!!

Photo is of Malea and Aysha (and Auntie Lori in background) at Malea's 2nd birthday party:-)

My tie-dye beauty, Malea, at 13 months with a dandelion tucked behind her ear! I can't believe how the time is flying by. She walks, says some words, communicates with sign language, hugs and kisses and is such a beam of light in my life♥

Just finished reading "eat, pray, love" by Elizabeth Gilbert. Very enjoyable book. I highly recommend it to all women and anyone who can relate to finding balance and their spiritual path in life.

Going to Kate Wolf Festival this weekend. Very excited. It's an awesome lineup including: Keb Mo, Taj Mahal Trio, The Waifs, Greg Brown, David Lindley, Los Lobos, The Wailin' Jennys, Ani DiFranco and many more!! Until next time..

Malea is 1 year old!!!

Well, we all made it through Malea's 1st year! She turned 1 on May 7th! She loved her carrot cake...her 1st real sweet treat. I can't believe it's already been 1 whole year. Malea started taking steps on her own on April 15th. On her birthday she took 7 steps by herself!!! So I guess she'll be walking like a champ pretty soon too! We will celebrate her birthday with the rest of the family at grandma's house tomorrow (Mother's Day). So stay tuned for more pics and videos of the 1st birthday.
